You’ve heard that ceramic paint coatings are expensive , but you’re not sure if they are worth the investment? A comparison of wax vs. ceramic coating will help you make an educated decision. A typical wax or sealant application can cost anywhere between $150-$200 and should be performed 3-4 times a year. A properly installed ceramic coating should cost between $600-1000+ (depending on the type of coating and the amount of labor needed to properly correct and prepare the surface) and should last for 3-5 years or longer if properly maintained.
Ceramic Paint Coatings are certainly all the rage and the latest and greatest advancement in paint protection. Ceramic Coatings are better than waxes and sealants hands down. They are harder, more durable, more heat tolerant, chemical resistant and last much longer. A Professionally installed Ceramic Coating can be considered permanent IF maintained properly. If installed properly ceramic coating can only be removed by machine compounding or wet sanding. Ceramic coating should never be installed by anyone who does not have proper training and knowledge of the application process. A coating that is not installed properly could end up being costly. Be sure you are dealing with a trained and certified installer. Remember this as well "cheap isn't always great and great is never cheap"
